My boyfriend made an obvious fantasy football collusion trade and expects me to protect him.

I am the commissioner of our competitive money league, and my boyfriend just traded away his two best superstars to his close buddy for scraps. Half the league is threatening to walk out unless I veto it, but he says vetoing him is a betrayal of trust.

The full story

Our 12-man fantasy football league has a $150 buy-in and we have run it together for six years. My boyfriend is having an absolute nightmare season and sits at 1-7. He basically checked out two weeks ago, but yesterday he accepted a blockbuster trade sending his top running back and elite receiver to his best friend in exchange for two borderline bench flex guys and a backup tight end. Everyone in the group chat immediately lost their minds screaming collusion, and as the league commissioner, they expect me to veto it and lock his roster. When I confronted him at home, he got genuinely furious and said it’s his team, he’s experimenting with depth to save his season, and if I veto his trade to pander to our friends it proves I don't respect him. Half the league is threatening to quit and demand their buy-ins back before kickoff tomorrow if I let this go through, while he is threatening to sleep on the couch and boycott the rest of the year if I abuse my commissioner power on him. I need real suggestions on how to handle this without blowing up my relationship or ruining a league we've had since college.
