I've been secretly 'improving' my roommate's cooking and I think she's starting to notice.

my roommate is a super nice person but she cannot cook to save her life. like, genuinely sad, unseasoned food. i started adding spices and stuff to her leftovers when she's not around, and now she thinks she's suddenly gotten good at it.

The full story

okay so i (20f) live with my friend (21f) from my classes. she is amazing, super clean, always pays rent on time, we have the same taste in shows, it's great. the only issue is her cooking. it's so bland it's a war crime. think boiled chicken with no salt, pasta with just butter, vegetables that have been steamed into gray mush. she gets takeout a lot but when she does cook she makes a big batch to eat for a few days. i felt bad for her, and also ngl i couldn't stand the smell of defeat coming from her food in the microwave. so a few weeks ago i started waiting until she was in class or in her room and i'd 'fix' her food in the fridge. a dash of garlic powder in the pasta, some paprika and onion powder on the chicken, maybe a little soy sauce in a stir fry she attempted. i wasn't doing anything crazy, just adding basic flavor. well it worked. she started talking about how she must be 'finally getting the hang of cooking' and her food is 'so much better now'. she was so proud of herself. but yesterday was the problem. she was making a soup and asked me to taste it, and i instinctively said 'it needs more thyme and some pepper'. she gave me a weird look and was like 'how do you know?' and i just froze and said i could smell it or something lame. now she's been talking about making dinner for her parents to show off her new skills and i feel like i've created a monster. do i have to come clean? or do i just let her serve her parents a bowl of hot unseasoned water and learn the hard way? i feel like a terrible person for lying but i truly did it out of love (and for my own sanity).
