I told my granddaughter that in my day, a gentleman always walked you to your door.

they told me her date just sent her a 'live location' link to watch his car icon drive home. I said that was the least romantic, most bizarre thing I'd ever heard of and now she thinks I'm ancient.

The full story

I told my granddaughter that in my day, a gentleman always walked you to your door, and you'd know he was a keeper if he waited until you were safely inside. She laughed and said her last date just sent her his live location on his phone so she could watch his little icon drive away. I said that was bizarre and lazy, and she said I was out of touch. Now she's teasing me, saying I'm going to demand her next boyfriend send a handwritten letter asking for a date. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but am I wrong to think that's just... not trying?
