I thought a surprise water balloon fight with the kids was a good idea.
By @laneforsure · Family
It was all fun and games until one of the balloons went over the fence. My neighbor is now giving me the silent treatment because we broke his prized garden gnome.
The full story
I was trying to be the fun mom today, you know? Get the kids off their tablets and out into the sun. I bought one of those giant quick-fill water balloon kits and thought I'd ambush my two boys (10 and 8) in the backyard. It worked perfectly, total chaos, everyone was laughing. Then my oldest, who apparently has a major league arm, winged one clear over the six-foot privacy fence. We heard a sad little *thwack* sound. A minute later, my neighbor peeked over the fence, holding the two halves of a ceramic gnome. He didn't yell, he just said, 'He just got a new coat of paint.' Am I a menace?
