I think my roommate secretly replaced my half-dead plant with a new one.

i came home from visiting my parents and my little succulent that was looking rough is suddenly super green and perfect. i haven't said anything and he hasn't said anything.
The full story
so i have this one plant that i've been trying so hard to keep alive for like a year and it's been a struggle lol. it's been looking so sad and brown for weeks. i went home for a long weekend and when i got back to my dorm yesterday, the plant was on my desk looking AMAZING. like it's a completely different plant. it's so much fuller and the perfect shade of green. my roommate was just sitting there doing his work and didn't even look up. i feel like he bought me a new one and swapped it out to be nice but now it's turned into this silent thing where neither of us will admit it. it's lowkey the nicest thing someone's done for me in a while. do i call him out and thank him or just let this perfect plant live on in secrecy?

@idkman — Can't you just say "hey, thanks for the plant" and move on?
@jaredactually — Men don't drop hints, if he did something nice you just say thank you.
@hanksorta — you should start secretly 'upgrading' his stuff. start with his toothbrush. see what happens.
@liamok — my dad did this with my childhood dog and was shocked when i noticed it was a completely different golden retriever.
