I deliberately blocked my roommate into the driveway after he ate my lunch.
By @noelee · Money
He ate my labeled meal prep and treated it like a joke, so I parked right in the middle of our tandem spot so he couldn't leave for work until I moved. Now he says making him late cross-checked a harmless fridge disagreement into a real problem.
The full story
Three of us rent a townhouse together, and we have an assigned two-car tandem driveway plus one street permit. We rotate spots every two months so nobody gets stuck shuffling cars forever. Last week, my roommate took my marked leftovers from the fridge on Tuesday, and then on Thursday borrowed my Dyson vacuum without asking and jammed the brush roll with packing tape. When I brought both things up, he laughed it off and called it household tax. So on Friday morning, instead of pulling all the way forward in our tandem spot like we agreed, I parked dead center. It blocked him in for forty minutes before his shift while I took a long shower. I didn't yell or start an argument, I just made him sit in the driveway and wait on me. He claims costing someone twenty minutes of work commute is way over the line compared to some chicken fried rice and a vacuum belt, but I view it as establishing an immediate boundary he couldn't laugh off.

@westbh — A man doesn't tamper with another man's livelihood over four dollars worth of rice and a burned out vacuum belt.
