I built a fake wall in my house to mess with my wife.

I thought it would be a funny prank. Now she says she likes it and wants to keep it, but it's blocking our hallway.
The full story
I do drywall and framing for a living, so I get leftover materials all the time. Last week I had a slow day and got a dumb idea. My wife was out for the afternoon, so I decided to build a temporary, fake wall in the middle of our main hallway. Just framing, no drywall on it yet. I figured she'd come home, see it, we'd have a laugh about how ridiculous it looks, and I'd take it down before dinner. She came home, and she just stopped and stared at it for a solid minute. I was trying not to laugh. Then she walks up, touches it, and says, "Huh. You know, I actually kinda like this." I thought she was joking. She was not. they said it makes the entryway feel more defined and creates a little nook for a bench she's always wanted. I tried to explain that it was a joke. I can't leave a bare-stud wall in the middle of our house. they told me to just finish it then. Put drywall on it, paint it, make it look real. I told her no, it's a terrible idea. It makes the hallway cramped, you have to turn sideways to get past it to the bedrooms. It's a fire hazard probably. Her response was that I'm just being lazy and don't want to do the work. Now it's been up for three days. She's started leaning pictures against it and has moved a plant next to it. She's acting like it's a permanent part of the house. I keep telling her I'm taking it down and she gets mad, saying I never listen to her ideas. It was a joke that's gone too far and now I'm the bad guy for wanting to be able to walk down my own hallway normally. I don't know what to do. I'm thinking of just taking it down when she's out again.

@ashmm — finish the wall this is hilarious
@quinnyk — Something tells me she's been asking for that wall for a while and you just weren't listening.
@justnope — You tried to do something funny and it backfired a little, just take it down when she's not home and pretend it was a dream lol.
@welpokay — This reminds me of when my dad tried to 'fix' our leaky faucet and ended up re-plumbing the entire bathroom over a weekend without telling my mom.
@noelyy — A man's home is his castle, and a castle doesn't have random walls blocking the hallways.
