Every time my friends and I go out, someone suggests sharing plates. Inevitably, I end up paying $50 for a single bite of calamari and a piece of bread.

I'm dead serious. We went out last weekend and the bill was split evenly, but I'm pretty sure my entire meal consisted of a single piece of focaccia that I had to fight for. There's always one person who orders the three most expensive small plates 'for the table' and then hoovers 90% of them. Then there's the one who claims they're 'not that hungry' but develops the appetite of a blue whale the second the food arrives. I'm over it. From now on, I'm ordering my own entrée and guarding it with my life. If that makes me a bad friend, I can live with that.
