Claiming a squat rack while doing a superset across the gym is completely out of line.
By @hollywelp · Social
A guy reserved one of only three squat racks with his bag while doing dumbbell sets twenty yards away during peak hours. When he refused to let anyone work in, I stripped his plates and took the rack.
The full story
Our gym has exactly three squat racks and peak hours run from 5 to 7 PM. Yesterday a guy loaded up four plates for rack pulls, placed his gym bag, water bottle, and phone right inside the platform, and then walked across the entire gym to do three sets of dumbbell lateral raises and check his phone by the water fountain. When I asked if I could work in on the rack while he did dumbbells, he claimed he was 'supersetting' and said he still had four sets left. I took his towel and bag off the barbell, stripped down two plates, and started my squats anyway. By the time he walked back he was furious, claiming platform ownership until he wiped it down.
