At what point does being 'thrifty' just become rude?

By @kiratbh · Petty or Nah

My roommate and i get takeout a lot, and she always offers to place the order. But then she sends me a request for my half with the tip and taxes already calculated in a way where i’m clearly paying more.

The full story

so my roommate (20f) and i (21f) are both in college and we both live off student loans and part-time jobs so money is tight. we get takeout a few times a week, usually just pizza or something cheap. she always offers to be the one to put the order in on her phone, which is nice i guess. but when she uses splitwise or venmo to request my half, it's always a little bit off. like if the total was $28, my half should be $14. but she'll request like $16.50. the first few times i thought maybe it was some weird delivery fee, but i saw the receipt on the counter one time and it was just the food, a normal tax, and the tip she added. i did the math and she was basically making me pay for the entire tip and a few extra dollars on top. it's not a lot of money each time, like a few bucks. but it's been happening for a whole semester and at this point she's probably skimmed like $50 off me. it feels so awkward to call her out over literally two or three dollars, but it also feels like she's treating me like her personal tip fund. i don't know if i should just let it go or make it a huge thing.
