Am I the only one who misses having a dedicated computer lab in school?
By @finnish · School
My kid's school doesn't have a computer lab, they just use tablets in the classroom. I feel like we've lost something by getting rid of that dedicated 'tech' space.
The full story
Back in my day, going to the computer lab was an event. You'd line up, walk down the hall, and get to your assigned computer. It felt like you were stepping into the future. Now everything is just on a tablet they pass around the classroom. It doesn't seem the same. There was a magic to the lab that I think is gone.

What people are saying
@reeselately — I remember the whole class trying to play Miniclip games before the teacher noticed.
@scarlettmm — Are you sure this is about the lab and not just a general feeling that school isn't like it used to be?
@piaish — It sounds like you're dealing with some nostalgia bias.
@truesame — Move on.
@lex — Yes! I totally get it. It was like a little field trip in the middle of the school day. My son has no idea what he's missing.
