Why are we pretending like 90s snacks were actually good?
By @umayk · Nostalgia
My friends and I were talking about old school snacks and everyone was getting nostalgic. I finally just said it: most of them were disgusting, artificially-flavored sugar blobs we only liked because we were 8.
The full story
The list was endless: Dunkaroos, Gushers, those weird wax bottles with juice in them, Fun Dip. Everyone was like "omg they should bring them back!" but were they actually good? I remember Dunkaroos frosting tasting like plastic and the cookies being cardboard. Gushers were just weirdly chewy jelly. I feel like our generation has these intense nostalgia goggles on for stuff that was, in reality, pretty mediocre. My friends said I was ruining the fun, but I think it's funnier to admit we had terrible taste as kids.
