I know this is going to sound dramatic, but I'm genuinely upset about the state of the the store food court. It's not just about the hot dog, it's about the whole experience. I have core memories of going there with my parents every Saturday. The deal was we had to behave through the whole store, and then we'd get a treat at the end. For me it was always the combo pizza slice and a berry sundae. First they came for the Polish dog. I was annoyed, but okay, the regular hot dog is still elite. Then they came for the combo pizza, taking away the perfect mix of sausage, pepperoni, and veggies. Now the only pizza option is cheese or pepperoni. It's just not the same. It feels like they're trying to 'gentrify' the food court experience, adding things like mango smoothies and açaí bowls that nobody asked for. The final straw for me was seeing them get rid of the hand-dipped ice cream bars and the berry sundaes. The new ice cream is fine, I guess, but it's soulless. The whole point of the food court was that it was a time capsule. It was perfect, unchanging, and unbelievably cheap. It was the one place where you could feel like a kid again, getting a huge slice of pizza and a soda for less than a fiver. Now it just feels like any other generic fast-food chain. They're optimizing away the soul of the place. I miss the old menu. I miss the chaos. I miss when it felt like a reward and not just another transaction.
