You had 45 minutes for Oregon Trail, and it was a literal sprint from the classroom to get a decent computer. Getting stuck with the ancient one that smelled like burnt dust was a death sentence.

The panic of seeing "You have died of dysentery" from the last player was real. You'd spend half the time just starting over. Then some kid would try to trade you their broken wagon for your last ox. I swear it built character in a way that having your own iPad never will. Kids today have it too easy.
