Our World Cup group chat is about to kick someone out for asking questions.

By @owenagain · Petty or Nah

We made the chat for coordinating where to watch games, with one rule: no talking during critical moments of play. This one friend keeps asking ridiculously basic stuff right as a team is making a run.

The full story

Seriously, it's the World Cup, not a tutorial. We're all trying to watch the game and this guy is blowing up the chat with "wait, why was that a yellow card?" or "what does 'offsides' mean again?" every five minutes. It completely kills the vibe. A few of us have told him to a place nearby it or ask during halftime, but he says we're being gatekeepers. At this point, it feels like he's doing it on purpose. It's not a masterclass, it's a chat for fans. I say we give him the boot. Am I being a jerk?
