Our fantasy commissioner is trying to add a $350 last-place travel fine in the middle of the season.
By @marakay · Gaming
The winning teams just voted to change our punishment from a harmless campus costume prank to paying for the winner's spring break flight deposit. Now the bottom seeds are stuck facing a massive bill they never agreed to at the draft.
The full story
Our college apartment fantasy football league has a rule where the last place manager has to run an obstacle course on the quad in a clown suit. Normal silly campus punishment stuff. But the commissioner just dropped a mid-season rule change poll saying whoever finishes in last also has to pay for the winner's entire spring break flight deposit, which is like $350. Half the league voted yes because they're currently 6-1 or 5-2 and think it makes the stakes way funnier and more cutthroat for the second half of the season. Me and two other managers are sitting at 2-5 and 1-6. We literally cannot afford an unexpected $350 hit on a student budget right before finals and the holidays. The commissioner says fantasy leagues evolve by majority vote and we're just crying because our rosters are struggling. Two guys already agreed to Venmo the pool early to lock it in, but changing financial buy-ins after draft day feels completely out of bounds. Leaving it up to yall because our group chat has been screaming for twelve hours.

What people are saying
@judefr — Your commissioner is just power tripping because his roster got lucky with zero injuries.
@colekay — Bench your entire starting lineup every single week from now on and let the whole league collapse in chaos.
@gussorta — nahhh
@mmkay — You never change the buy-in after the draft kicks off, that is standard integrity right there.
@paigetbh — Did the original charter require a unanimous vote for financial changes?
