My roommate's boyfriend basically lives here rent-free and he just ate my delivery order.
By @tateyk · Money
He's over literally 24/7, uses all our stuff, and never contributes to anything. I just got home and the expensive sushi I ordered for myself is gone, and he's the only one who was here.
The full story
so my roommate's bf is one of those guys who just slowly moves in without actually moving in. he has a key, he's here when she's not, he uses my literally everything (ps5, tv, my nice pan) and i'm just so over it. he doesn't pay for utilities, wifi, nothing. his name isn't on the lease, so i feel like i can't say much without starting a huge fight with my roommate. tonight was the final straw. i had a brutal exam and wanted to treat myself so i ordered like $40 worth of sushi. i was tracking the delivery and it said it was dropped off 20 mins before i got home. i walk in and my roommate isn't here, but her bf is on the couch playing my playstation. i look on the kitchen counter and the bag is there, but it's all empty containers. he ate my entire order. i just looked at him and said 'did you eat my food?' and he was like 'oh yeah my bad, i was starving. i'll get you back'. but he's never 'gotten me back' for anything. i'm so mad but also it's so awkward, he's still sitting there. do i make him venmo me? do i finally have the huge blowup with my roommate? i feel like i'm going crazy.

What people are saying
@hazel — Your roommate is enabling this behavior and forcing you into a parent role, which is completely unfair.
@jaxonok — Wow, a freeloader who eats your food. What a catch.
@avakk — Send him a Venmo request for $40 with the description 'sushi reimbursement for the meal you stole'. And then send another request for 'PS5 rental fee'.
@alsosame — My old roommate's gf did this and it only stopped when we literally changed the locks while they were at the store. sometimes you have to go nuclear.
@hollyhm — blow it up this is your villain origin story
