My roommate keeps 'borrowing' my expensive shampoo and conditioner.

She never asks, she just uses it, and this stuff is not cheap. I tried hiding it but she always finds it, and when I confronted her she said I was overreacting about 'a little bit of soap'.

so my roommate is generally fine but she has this one habit that's driving me insane. i have a pretty specific hair routine and use shampoo and conditioner that costs like $40 a bottle. it's a splurge for me but it's the only thing that works for my hair. she has started just... using it. without asking. i noticed the bottles felt lighter way too fast, so i put a little sharpie mark on the side to track it, and yep, a noticeable amount was gone the next day. i'm not trying to be a detective but i'm a broke college student and i can't afford to subsidize her hair care lmao. i tried moving it into my room, but then she texted me asking where the 'good shampoo' was. so she knows it's mine! i brought it up to her nicely and just said hey, that stuff is really expensive, could you please not use it? and she got super defensive, said it's just soap, and that i'm being selfish and petty by hoarding it. now it's super awkward in the apartment. i feel like i'm going crazy, am i wrong for not wanting to share something i pay for?
