My friends made a new 'active user' rule for our group chat.

if you don't 'react' to at least five posts a day, you get put in a secondary 'lurker' chat. i think this is insane but they're all treating it like a fun game.

it started as a joke i think. someone said i was a lurker bc i don't always reply to every single meme dump and we have this one friend who sends like 50 tiktoks a day. so they made a 'rule' that you have to tapback/emoji react to at least five things daily. if you miss a day, you get moved to the 'ghosts' chat. literally just a chat with the other 'inactive' people. you can earn your way back by being active in the ghost chat lol. it feels like i'm being given social media homework. they say it promotes engagement, i say it's unhinged. am i being dramatic or is this a weird way to run a group chat?
