My family group chat has officially adopted a Robert's Rules of Order for making decisions.

My brother, who is a massive nerd, proposed it as a joke for deciding on a restaurant for my mom's birthday. Now my dad is trying to 'call the question' on what to watch on TV.
The full story
It started as a joke, I swear. My brother thought it would be funny to use a super formal system to decide where to go for my mom's birthday dinner since nobody could agree. they wrote up a whole thing. But now it's taken on a life of its own. My dad, who has never used the internet for anything but looking up tractor parts, is now saying things like 'I move to amend the motion' when we talk about weekend plans. Last night he tried to 'call the question' on what movie to watch. I am losing my mind. It's funny, but also, this is so, so dumb.
