My coworkers made a shared spreadsheet to track everyone's lunch breaks.

they complained that certain people take longer lunches, so instead of just talking to them, two of the senior people on my team made a public spreadsheet. Now we're all supposed to log the minute we leave and the minute we get back.

i cannot believe this is my life. so we have a pretty flexible lunch policy, basically just be reasonable. but a couple people on my team were apparently taking like 90 minute lunches regularly. instead of a manager actually managing, two of the senior team members who are definitely not managers decided to solve this by creating a public google sheet called 'Lunch Log'. we're all supposed to put our name, time out, and time back in. they're acting like they're just 'increasing transparency' and 'building a culture of accountability' but it feels so passive aggressive and condescending. it's so quiet and awkward in the office now because everyone feels like they're being watched. if i go to the pharmacy and there's a line, now i'm stressing that my name is going to be highlighted in red on the spreadsheet for going 3 minutes over an hour. this feels like a massive overreaction and a super weird power move from people who aren't even in charge. i haven't put my name on it yet out of pure spite but i know it's only a matter of time before they say something. is this not insane?
