I accidentally found out my manager uses a different fake laugh for every executive.

I was organizing files on the shared drive and stumbled on his 'meeting prep' folder. Inside was a spreadsheet ranking execs by their favorite topics and a recording of him practicing different laughs.

The full story

It was a slow afternoon and I was just cleaning up some old project folders on our shared drive. I found a folder with my manager's name on it labeled 'Meeting Prep.' I figured it was just old agendas, but inside was a spreadsheet and an audio file named 'laugh tracks.' I'm not proud of it, but I opened the spreadsheet. It was a list of every VP and C-suite exec in the company, with notes on their favorite small-talk subjects (golf, their kids' colleges, etc.) and a 'laugh type' assigned to each. The audio file was him practicing them. There was 'The Hearty Chuckle' for the CEO, 'The Appreciative Snort' for the VP of Sales, and 'The Silent-But-Nodding Giggle' for the COO. He had notes on when to deploy each one. I'm losing my mind.
