Listening to music on shuffle is just wrong.
By @gabeliterally · Music
My girlfriend (26F) and I (28F) are always fighting over the music in the car. She just hits shuffle on a 3,000 song playlist and I can't stand it.
The full story
I don't get the point. You get whiplash going from one thing to another. There's no flow. No feeling. Back in the day, you made a mixtape. You burned a CD. You thought about the order. The first song had to be a banger to get it started. Then you'd maybe slow it down a bit. You'd build it back up. they told a story. You were trying to say something with that mix. It was an art. It was how you told someone you liked them without having to say it. Now you just press a button and get random noise. My girlfriend says I'm being dramatic and old. they says the point is the surprise and hearing songs you forgot you had. I say the point of a playlist is the 'list' part. It's supposed to be in order. She just wants to put on her massive 'everything' playlist with every genre mixed together and let the algorithm decide. It drives me crazy. We were driving to her parents' place last weekend and went from some screamo band to a country song to a pop song from when we were in middle school. It's just chaos. I can't be the only one who thinks this is a terrible way to listen to music. Am I just stuck in the past?

@maekay — My bf does this and I swear it gives me actual anxiety. The random screamo followed by like, showtunes? No.
@lanelol — shuffle is the only way to live let chaos reign
@ineswelp — Have you tried making a collaborative playlist you both add to, but you get to set the final order?
