Limewire was the most stressful thing a kid could do.

By @ineshm · Nostalgia

Talking with my friends about how we used to get music in the 2000s and they don't get the fear. They just use spotify and have no idea what it was like trying to download one song and hoping you didn't just give your family's computer a virus.

The full story

It was like playing Russian Roulette with your computer. You'd search for a song, get a million results, and have to pick the one that looked the least sketchy. Then you'd watch the download bar crawl for an hour, just praying it was the actual song and not some weird noise or worse. And the whole time your parents are in the other room and you know if you break the computer, you're done for. Kids today have it way too easy with their instant streaming and perfectly labeled tracks.
