I trained my replacement and just found out he makes 30% more than I did.

By @codyliterally · Work

I left my old job for a new role, and before I left, I spent weeks training the new guy. A friend still at the company just told me his starting salary, and it's a massive jump from what I was making in the same role.

The full story

I literally wrote the training manual for him. I sat with him for my last three weeks, walked him through every process, and introduced him to all my contacts. I thought I was doing the right thing, being professional. Now I just feel like a total idiot. It's not even a little more, it's a life-changing amount. They valued a brand new person with zero experience more than they valued me after five years. I'm so angry I could scream.
