I refused to help my neighbor jump his car this morning.

By @hankmaybe · Am I the Villain

He's a nice enough guy, but he's asked me three times in the last month. I have my own things to do in the morning, and I'm starting to feel like his personal AAA service.

The full story

I see him from my window this morning, hood up, looking helpless. It's the third time this month he's needed a jump. The first time, of course, I helped. The second time, I was already running late for work but did it anyway. Today I just pretended I didn't see him. I feel like an awful person watching him from behind my curtains, but at what point is it not my problem anymore? He's a grown man, and car batteries aren't that expensive. I feel guilty, but also, I just don't want to be the default neighborhood car guy.
