I have to formally present a business case for a new office coffee machine.

By @maeyk · Work

Our old one broke and my boss, in an attempt to be funny, told me to prepare a full slide deck on the ROI of a new Keurig. I think he was joking, but now it's on the meeting agenda.

The full story

This feels like the most absurd task of my professional career. The office coffee machine, a relic from at least a decade ago, finally gave up last week. My boss said, 'Hey, why don't you put together a few slides on the business impact of caffeine and we'll discuss?' I laughed, he laughed, I assumed it was a joke. I just got the calendar invite for our weekly team meeting and there's a 15-minute agenda item that just says: 'Coffee Initiative Deep Dive.' Now I have to actually make a PowerPoint about this. I cannot decide if I should make a serious presentation or a completely ridiculous one.
