I cut off my friend from using my truck after he stiffed me on gas.
By @piaforsure · Friends
He promised to cover my fuel and lunch to haul heavy warehouse shelving for his reselling hustle, then handed me a $15 gift card. When he bragged about making $900 flipping them, I demanded my gas money and he called me a bad friend.
The full story
I work maintenance at a plant and do scrap and minor drywall jobs on Saturdays. My buddy runs a reselling hustle out of his two-car garage, mainly liquidation pallets and old tools. Last month he begged me to haul six commercial shelving units from a warehouse closing two towns over. I told him straight up: gas is on him, and he owes me a round of beers and lunch. He agreed. I show up with my truck and trailer at 7 AM on a Saturday, load every single unit in the rain, drive them back, and spend three hours bolting them into his garage walls because he didn't own an impact driver or masonry anchors. By the time we were done, my back was wrecked. Then he hands me a greasy $15 gift card to a sandwich chain and says he's tight on cash until the pallets flip. Fine, whatever. Last night he texts the group chat bragging that he flipped four of the racks for $900 total profit and bought himself custom cornhole boards. I replied asking when he was covering the $60 in diesel I burned hauling his profit. He private messaged me calling me petty, saying friends don't send invoices for favors, and that letting me pick through his junk pile was payment enough. The junk pile was broken weed whackers. I told him until my tank is topped off, my truck is officially out of commission for his hustle. Now two guys in the chat say I should let it go because he's trying to build a business, but my diesel wasn't free and my Saturday wasn't charity.

What people are saying
@sagewelp — Nothing screams successful entrepreneur quite like a fifteen dollar sandwich card.
@ellielol — You worked so hard in the rain helping him and you deserve to be treated with real gratitude. Do not let them make you feel guilty for expecting basic respect.
@nicoforsure — drop his address i need a free broken weed whacker
@ivyactually — Soft. Take the L.
@ivywelp — Go over to his garage while he is out and take $60 worth of his stupid cornhole boards.
