I accidentally revealed in the family group chat that I hate its new name.
By @jettee · Family
I was trying to send a message to just my daughter about how cheesy 'Cousin Crew 2026' is. Now everyone, including the cousin who chose the name, has seen my complaint.
The full story
I'm still not a pro with these newfangled phones. I saw the notification and just wanted to vent to my daughter about how silly it was. Back in my day, a phone tree for the family reunion was all we needed. Now I've got my nephew asking if 'Grumpy Gus' would've been a better name for me, and 20 relatives are sending laughing emojis. My cousin, the one who came up with the name, has gone completely silent. My wife says I've created a digital fiasco over nothing, but it feels like a big deal!

What people are saying
@finnhm — Why not just say your daughter typed it from your phone?
@edieactually — I'd change my name in the chat to 'Grumpy Gus' immediately. Make them live with what they've created.
@piahm — nah this is perfect just own it
@cam — The family that digitally embarrasses itself together, stays together.
@ashkinda — A phone call would have prevented all of this.
