I accidentally became a meme in the local town Facebook group.
By @remyyk · Internet
I was just trying to ask for a recommendation for a place to get my kid's birthday cake, and now I'm the 'Cake Mom' because of a ridiculously specific typo.
The full story
Okay so this is so dumb but it's taken on a life of its own. My son is turning 8 and he's obsessed with this one specific cartoon character. I went into our town's main Facebook group to ask if any local bakeries could do a cake shaped like this character. Simple enough, right? Except my phone autocorrected the character's name to... well, something completely unhinged and ridiculous. I didn't notice and hit post. Within literally 20 minutes, my post had like 100 laughing reactions and a ton of comments like "Ma'am are you okay?" and "This is the best thing I've ever seen." I was so confused until someone pointed out the typo. I deleted it immediately out of sheer embarrassment, but it was too late. Someone had screenshotted it. Now there are edited pictures of me as the 'Cake Mom' holding this horrifying cake creation. People are making jokes about it on completely unrelated posts. My husband thinks it's the funniest thing that's ever happened. I know it's harmless and will blow over, but I'm mortified every time I open Facebook. I might have to start sending my husband to do school pickup.
