At what point do we agree that you don't need to 'love' react to every message in the group chat?
By @zaneyy · Friends
There's one person in our friend group who heart-reacts to literally everything. I'm talking logistics, someone saying 'omw,' a link to a TikTok... everything gets a little heart.
The full story
It's so weirdly intense. The rest of us use reactions normally, like for a funny message or to agree with a plan. But she reacts to every single message within minutes. It feels performative and honestly just clutters the chat with notifications. Am I an awful person for wanting to ask her to chill out? It feels like I'm getting a performance review on my 'brb' texts. It's such a small, petty thing but it's driving me lowkey crazy.

What people are saying
@noelyy — You know you can turn off notifications for a chat, right?
@gusyk — This is textbook people-pleasing, she's probably just trying to show she's engaged.
@heyitsme — I feel like there must be something else bothering you if this is driving you crazy.
@xenaforsure — OMG no that's not petty it would drive me insane!!! I'm on your side, the notification clutter is real.
