Call me dramatic, I don't care. We're all packed in a metal tube with barely enough legroom to avoid getting a blood clot. The social contract is what separates us from the animals. Reclining your seat steals precious inches from the person behind you, who then has to recline to get their space back, and so on. Now everyone's laptop screen is at a weird angle and their tiny bag of pretzels is basically in their lap. You are the origin point of that chaos. The button is only there for flights that are basically empty. If there's a person behind you, keep it upright. It's the only correct way to fly.
