My gf says playing old video games is a waste of time.

She thinks if I'm going to spend hours gaming it should be on new stuff with friends like Fortnite or CoD. I tried to explain the glory of Ocarina of Time on the N64 and she just isn't getting it.

so my gf and i have been together for like a year and it's mostly great. the one thing we kinda butt heads on is gaming. she plays stuff like fortnite, valorant, overwatch 2, all the current popular multiplayer games with her friends and she's really good at them. i like some new games, but i get way more enjoyment out of replaying the classics. like right now i'm working my way through ocarina of time on an old n64 i got from a thrift store. it's my favorite game of all time and i'm having a blast. last night she came into the room while i was fighting dark link and just stood there for a minute before asking why i'm 'still playing this old blocky game'. i tried to explain that it's a classic and the story is amazing but she just rolled her eyes. she said it's a waste of time to play a 25-year-old single-player game when i could be playing new games online with her and our friends. she says it's 'unproductive' and kinda antisocial. i feel like she's looking down on my hobby just because it's not what's popular right now. it's not like i'm ignoring her for it, i just like to unwind with it for an hour or two at night. i think she should just let me enjoy what i enjoy. is she right that it's a waste of time?
