My coworker makes a weird comment every time my boyfriend drops off lunch.

By @hankkinda · Work

He'll bring me food if I'm stuck working through lunch, and one specific coworker always says something like, 'Oh, he's checking up on you?' It's starting to feel less like a joke.

The full story

I have one coworker who has decided to make my boyfriend's occasional food deliveries his business. If I have back-to-back meetings, my boyfriend is sweet enough to drop a salad or a sandwich at the front desk for me. Every single time, without fail, this coworker makes a point of saying something. It's always a variation of 'Looks like someone's got you on a short leash!' or 'Making sure you're still at your desk?' I've tried to just laugh it off or ignore it, but it's gotten under my skin. It feels undermining, like he's implying I'm untrustworthy or that my relationship is controlling. It’s not, and it’s embarrassing to have it framed that way in front of my team. I don't know if I should say something or if that will just make it worse.
