My coworker keeps 'reserving' his parking spot with an orange cone.
By @hanklately · Work
We have a shared, unassigned parking lot at work. This one guy comes in early, puts a cone in a prime spot near the door, and then moves the cone when he arrives at 9 a.m. sharp.
The full story
It's a small, unspoken annoyance that's been building on our team. The parking lot is first-come, first-served. There are enough spots for everyone, but the ones near the entrance are obviously the most convenient. This coworker leaves his house early, drives to the office to drop a traffic cone in one of those spots, and then goes to the gym or runs errands for an hour before actually starting his workday. He thinks it's a clever life hack. The rest of us who get in at a normal time think it's absurd. I'm tempted to just move the cone and park there myself tomorrow.
