My coworker has started putting a tip jar next to the 'free' baked goods she brings in.

A woman on my team occasionally brings in cookies or brownies, which is nice. But last week she added a little jar with a 'Tips Welcome!' sign next to them. Now nobody knows what to do.

It's created this incredibly awkward situation in the break room. Before, people would just grab a cookie and say thanks if they saw her. Now, people either sneak in and grab one while she's not there, or they stand in front of the jar awkwardly digging for a dollar. It feels so transactional and has taken all the fun out of it. Is this her side hustle now? Are we funding her baking hobby? Everyone's talking about it, but no one wants to be the one to say something.
