We have a daily coffee run and she's always 'forgetting' her wallet or is short a couple of bucks. It's never enough to feel worth mentioning at the moment, but it's happened for months and now it feels like a weird principle of the thing.

My cubicle-mate and I are on the same team and make the same salary. Every morning, a few of us go down to the cafe in our lobby. And at least 3-4 times a week, she'll get to the register and do the whole pat-down routine... 'Oh my gosh, I think my wallet is at my desk!' or 'Ugh, I only have a card and they have a $10 minimum, can you spot me?' It's always a small amount, like $2.50 for a drip coffee, so I always say yes. I figured she'd get me back next time, or it would all come out in the wash. It has not. I did a quick mental calculation and realized she has to be over $50 at this point. It's not the money, it's the audacity. It feels less like forgetfulness and more like a habit. It feels disrespectful. I've tried getting my coffee before she gets in, but then she just asks me the next day. How do I handle this without creating a huge, awkward issue with someone I have to sit next to for 40 hours a week? I'm genuinely considering sending a Venmo request for '$52.50' with a coffee emoji and seeing what happens.
