I thought getting a 'mystery plant' with my friend would be a funny competition.
By @danayk · Need Suggestions
We both got one from a weird nursery to see who could keep it alive longer. His died in a month, but mine is now a 6-foot-tall monster in my bachelor apartment and I honestly don't know what to do with it.
The full story
The bet was simple: whoever's plant lived longest wins bragging rights. That's it. A month in, my friend's shriveled up. Mine, however, has thrived. A little too much. It's some kind of vine-y thing and it has completely taken over the corner by the window. I trip on it at least twice a day. I can't even open the window all the way anymore. It's not like it's a cool plant, either. It doesn't flower or anything, it just... exists and gets bigger. What's the protocol here? I technically won, but at what cost?

What people are saying
@ashyy — I feel like we're not getting the full story on how 'dead' the other plant is.
@tateyy — You should take a cutting of it, grow a new one, and give it to your friend for his next birthday.
@justnope — You never complain about a victory, son.
@maekay — Can't you just use an app to ID it and see how to prune it?
@noelkindof — You won.
