I got into a serious debate on a fan forum about whether Tom Baker or David Tennant was the best Doctor Who.
By @reesekinda · Internet
It started as a fun, nostalgic chat about old sci-fi shows. Now I'm getting essays in my DMs from strangers about the sonic screwdriver and timelines. My wife thinks I'm losing my mind over a TV show from 40 years ago.
The full story
I was just posting on a forum about how much I loved watching Doctor Who as a kid, back when the sets were wobbly and the aliens were clearly just bubble wrap. I said Tom Baker was the definitive Doctor and you can't beat that scarf. Well, that opened a can of worms. Suddenly my inbox is full of these young fans telling me I don't understand the 'nuance' of the newer series. It's all good-natured, I suppose, but it's funny how seriously people take this stuff. It used to just be a fun show you watched on a Saturday, now it's practically a religion for some.
