I created a fake university club and now it might be real.

I made a joke flyer for the 'Aquatic Noodle Appreciation Society' on my college campus. Now dozens of people have RSVP'd to the 'first meeting' I made up and the student union is asking for our faculty advisor's name.

this was supposed to be a dumb joke for my friends. i'm a graphic design major so i have photoshop and like... too much free time. we were talking about how niche and weird some of the student clubs are here so i decided to make a fake one. i designed this super serious, official-looking flyer for the 'university aquatic noodle appreciation society' (UANAS). i put all this insane lore in it. stuff about the 'solemn art of noodle flotation,' 'advanced hydro-dynamic techniques,' and 'the philosophical implications of polyethylene foam.' i even gave myself a ridiculous title: the founding father & grand pooh-bah of the noodleverse. i printed like 20 copies and my friends and i stuck them around campus in the most annoying, high-traffic spots. we even made a QR code that went to a rickroll. we thought it was hilarious. except people didn't get the joke. or maybe they got it and they're just as weird as i am. my email, which i STUPIDLY put on the flyer, has been blowing up. i'm not talking one or two people. i'm talking like 60+ students asking for the date and time of the inaugural meeting. some are asking if they need to bring their own noodle or if 'club-sanctioned noodles will be provided for a nominal fee.' now the student activities office has emailed me. they saw the flyers and said it's great to see new student initiatives, but i need to register the club officially. which means i need a faculty advisor and a club constitution. a CONSTITUTION. for a joke about pool noodles. my friends think i should just confess it was a prank but i feel like i've accidentally created a movement. what if i'm disappointing all these people who just want to... appreciate noodles? i'm genuinely considering asking my ancient history professor to be our advisor. am i obligated to become the noodle guy now?
