Hot take: the school potluck needs to be taken down a notch.

By @reesekay · Hot Takes

I'm staring at the signup sheet for my son's class party and it looks like a catering menu for a royal wedding. What happened to just bringing a bag of chips?

The full story

The email just came for the 4th grade end-of-year picnic and I'm already stressed. The signup genius is a battlefield of competitive parenting. We've got organic, gluten-free, dye-free brownie bites (from scratch, of course), a fruit salad carved into the shape of the school mascot, and 'homemade artisan mini quiches.' I'm sorry, I have a full time job and another kid in kindergarten. I do not have time to be an artisan. I'm this close to signing up for 'napkins' and accepting my fate as the class slacker mom.
