Hot take but movie trailers show way too much now.

By @willaish · Hot Takes

Trailers are supposed to be teasers, not a 2-minute summary of the entire plot including the twist. It completely ruins the experience of actually watching the movie.

The full story

every time a new trailer for a big movie drops my whole timeline is talking about it. but i literally have to avoid them now. i saw a trailer for a horror movie recently and it literally showed the final jump scare. what is the point?? i miss when trailers just gave you a vibe and a premise. now you see the entire three-act structure in a minute and a half. it's like they don't trust the audience to go see it unless they know every single thing that happens. it's lowkey disrespectful to the filmmakers and the audience.
